Beinecke Scholarship Program

The Beinecke Scholarship Program is open to juniors who are planning to continue their studies at the graduate level. Students who plan to pursue a graduate degree in the arts, humanities, or social sciences are eligible. Students awarded the scholarship receive $4,000 upon completion of their undergraduate studies, and a $15,000 stipend for each of two years in graduate school for a total of $34,000. Students interested in the Beinecke should contact fellowships@georgetown.edu.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Superior academic record and ability (above or approaching 3.9)
  • Evidence of need-based financial aid during undergraduate studies. The primary evidence of this is a student’s history of receiving need-based institutional, state, or federal grants-in-aid. However, any student who has received any amount of need-based financial aid during their undergraduate years is eligible to be nominated. If you are not currently receiving need-based aid due to receipt of a merit award or tuition exchange, you must provide a statement from a financial-aid officer indicating how much need-based aid you would receive if you were not receiving support from the non-need-based source.
